A Cooper Hawk's Delight
A squirrel on a redwood tree. He goes up and down in small spurts. After a small sprint, he stops abruptly. And watches. He heads up a tree. Suddenly turns and heads down. Then he moves sideways around the broad trunk. All to avoid me. I will not harm him. The cooper hawk above will. He missed it completely: breakfast. Redwood smiles.

It is the color between red and blue. It confuses him.

Egyptian's Delight
I feel like an ancient Egyptian now. This could have easily happened in the old kingdom. A happy farmer in Memphis waking up in the morning. Looking at the Papyrus. Beautiful dew settled in. A thousand questions in his mind. Do they talk amongst themselves? Why do they dance when the sun rises? Why do they not last forever? Would "jocund" only be reserved for daffodils?
